一九七三年，聖母藉她的一尊聖像，向依搦斯.和子.佐佐川Agnes Katsuko Sasagawa修女，傳遞了三個訊息。自一九七五年一月四日至一九八一年九月十五日，這尊聖母像曾落淚一百零一次。聖像也流出血和汗，且散發芳香氣味。

一九八四年，新瀉縣Niigata主教正式批准接納這是真實的顯現。一九八八年，若瑟.冉欣澤Joseph Ratzinger樞機（即後來的現任教宗本篤十六世）確定日本秋田縣Akita〔毗鄰北海道〕的聖母顯現和訊息，是可靠及可信。

第一個訊息

一九七三年七月六日，聖母像發出聲音說：「為補贖世人的罪祈禱。這團體的每一位都是我不可或替的女兒。你有沒有唸好聖體僕婢的祈禱經文呢？讓我們一起祈禱：『真實臨在聖體聖事內的至聖耶穌聖心，我願意我的身心，完全與禰的聖心融匯為一，在世界每個祭台上讚美聖父，並祈求祂國度的來臨。求禰接納我謙卑的奉獻，按禰的旨意成為光榮聖父和拯救人靈的工具。至聖天主之母，不要讓我與妳的聖子分離，保守我作為妳特別的小孩吧。亞孟。』

自你受洗以後，你已經常為教宗、主教和神父祈禱。但，仍要繼續、仍要多做…。如實報告你的院長今天的經歷，遵從他的指示。你的院長正全心尋求祈禱哩！」

第二個訊息

同年八月三日，聖母發出第二個訊息：

「現世很多人令主傷心，我正尋找安慰祂的人靈。為平息天父的義怒，聖子和我希望那些願意為負罪或忘恩負義的靈魂轉禱的人，一起奉獻他們的苦痛和神貧。

要讓世人領略祂的震怒，聖父有意給世人大災難。多次，和聖子一起，我嘗試平息天父的義怒。

為除免將要來臨的災難，我把聖子在苦架上的苦難、祂的聖血，連同那些熱心受苦，安慰天父的靈魂，齊心奉獻。

祈禱、補贖、誠懇的神貧、勇敢的犧牲，可以軟化天父的義怒。我同時希望你的團體，以實踐神貧、做克己，和多祈禱，為眾多負義於天主、凌辱天主的人，做補贖。」

第三個訊息

十月十三日，聖母傳達第三個訊息、同時又是最後一個訊息：

「每天誦唸玫瑰經，亦以此經文為主教和神父祈禱。魔鬼的工作，已靜悄悄地潛入了教會，我們會目睹樞機之間、主教之間，互相責難對峙。

恭敬我的神父們，反會被同僚所迫害和責難，聖堂與祭台被劫掠，教會內會有盲目的妥協，魔鬼更引誘聖職和修道人員，離棄侍主的崗位。

魔鬼不懈地引誘熱心的靈魂。當我想到眾多靈魂的墮落，使我感到哀痛。如罪孽不止，便與赦恩無緣了。」

In 1973 Our Lady gave three messages to Sister Agnes Katsuko Sasagawa through a statue. From Jan. 4, 1975, to Sept. 15, 1981, the statue shed tears 101 times. The statue also shed blood and perspired with sweet perfume.

In 1984 the Bishop of Niigata gave official approval of the apparition, and in 1988 Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger gave definitive judgement on the Akita events and messages as reliable and worthy of belief.

First message

The first message was given to Sister Agnes on July 6, 1973. A voice coming from the statue of Mary said:

“Pray in reparation for the sins of humanity. Each person in this community is my irreplaceable daughter. Do you say well the prayer of the Handmaids of the Eucharist? Then let us pray it together:

“Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, truly present in the Holy Eucharist, I consecrate my body and soul to be entirely one with Your Heart being sacrificed at every instant on all the altars of the world and giving praise to the Father, pleading for the coming of His kingdom. Please receive my humble offering of myself. Use me as you will for the glory of the Father and the salvation of souls. Most Holy Mother of God, never let me be separated from your Divine Son. Please defend and protect me as your special child. Amen.

“Pray very much for the Pope, bishops, and priests. Since your baptism you have always prayed faithfully for them. Continue to pray very much … very much. Tell your superior all that passed today and obey him in everything that he will tell you. Your superior is wholeheartedly seeking prayers now.”

Second message

The second message was given Aug. 3:

“Many men in this world grieve the Lord. I seek souls to console Him. In order to appease the anger of the Heavenly Father I wish, with my Son, for souls who will make reparation for sinners and the ungrateful by offering up their sufferings and poverty to God on their behalf.

“In order that the world might know the wrath of the Heavenly Father toward today’s world, He is preparing to inflict a great chastisement on all mankind. With my Son, many times I have tried to appease the wrath of the Heavenly Father.

“I have prevented the coming of the chastisement by offering Him the sufferings of His Son on the Cross, His Precious Blood, and the compassionate souls who console the Heavenly Father … a cohort of victim souls overflowing with love.

“Prayer, penance, honest poverty, and courageous acts of sacrifice can soften the anger of the Heavenly Father. I desire this also from your community: please make much of poverty, deepen repentance, and pray amid your poverty in reparation for the ingratitude and insults toward the Lord by so many men.”

Third message

The third and last message was given Oct. 13:

“Each day recite the prayers of the Rosary. With the Rosary pray for the bishops and priests. The work of the devil will infiltrate even into the Church. One will see cardinals opposing other cardinals … and bishops confronting other bishops.

“The priests who venerate me will be scorned and condemned by their confreres; churches and altars will be sacked; the Church will be full of those who accept compromises and the demon will tempt many priests and religious to leave the service of the Lord.

“The demon is trying hard to influence souls consecrated to God. The thought of the perdition of so many souls is the cause of my sadness. If sins continue to be committed further, there will no longer be pardon for them.”
